Adam 12 was good in its day, and still holds up pretty well; I'm enjoying watching these episodes.
However, I'm struck by something; the show is a curious blend of old-fashioned values (can't get much more All-American than Malloy and Reed) and modern-day Political Correctness. Note in this episode that the black characters are the brainy young girl and the competent, caring school principal. In other episodes, you see black cops doing their jobs well. That's fine, good role models for kids. But meanwhile, almost all the criminals in Adam 12 episodes are white. Hardly a black or Hispanic crook to be seen anywhere. I don't know about 1970s LA, but that doesn't seem too realistic for the city today.
