I'm enjoying the interplay of the two characters; one smooth wisdom-wise, the other smooth in looks and style. Travis Fimmel plays Ellis as if he takes nothing serious, when behind the eyes you can see the shark waiting for a chance to bite.
Nothing's hidden in Swayze's portrayal of the hard-a** cop who's lived it all and wants to pass down the legacy to a new generation. It's sad that Patrick is gone, but he left behind one of the finest portayals of his career in this series. The pain on his face is real, and he channels it perfectly into one of the most angst-ridden cops in TV history.
Love seeing Fimmel get a chance to sink his teeth into a meaty role. I hope he has many more opportunities. He's a chameleon.
