Like another comment here, I grew up near Carswell AFB in Ft Worth watching all sorts of aircraft fly by and wake me up each morning. At 32, I've done a lot in my life and have always had an interest in aviation. For whatever reason, I've put off obtaining my pilot's license. I've flown with friends and traveled extensively commercially on vacations. Watching this film solidifies my love for aviation and is a wake up call to what is possible to lose, even before having the opportunity to enjoy it as many have already. I did not know the history of Meigs Field until watching this film and it was disheartening to see its demise. Who can do something like that? Nonetheless, our voices need to be heard, whether you're a pilot or non-pilot to prevent future closings of airports. Like they say in the movie, we have to let our neighbors know our love for aviation and its purpose.
In a few months, I'm looking forward to finally moving forward with my dream of learning to fly. I look forward to the many years and experiences I can share with my family and friends and hope they too will have an opportunity in their future to enjoy it on their own and pass it on.
Thank you to those responsible for putting together this film. This has certainly been shared to friends.
