Anyone But Me: The Real Thing

Even if you are not gay, this little show resonates with teen angst. I remember my own teen years. They were fun for me. We all remember that ONE friend that was different and we finally learned to love and the value of a real friend. Good work.

It is amazing and odd that this type of film has not been made sooner. Almost everyone goes through this type of relationship whether hetero or homosexual. It is exactly what all homosexual or biracial couplesexperience during their teens until they "come out". It is still so sad to watch TV these days and not be able to "see yourself" in the mirror. I am glad I found this. It reminds me of my teens and having to deal with society and peer pressure. I am so proud of those celebrities who have made it a point to stand up and be themselves. It has only made them better people.

I just wish Rachael Hip-Flores would really do her eyebrows, otherwise Great show!

Only 20 or even 10 years ago, we, teenagers, had nothing like this, except maybe an After School special. To have a television series that deals with true feelings of a teenager, gay or otherwise, is awesome.

Aside from being well done, it shows the uncertainty and difficulty of trying to figure out who you are, dealing with so many emotions and feelings which are often conflicting.

I can't tell you how important it is to have a television show that not only represents who you are, but supports you and portrays this via the main characters.

The reason the "fantasy" wasn't clear cut from the "real" I'm sure is because the directors wanted you to see what the characters really felt was their life. Sometimes the fantasy is actually more real than real life in a teenager's eyes. Especially in the mind of a hormonally charged teenager in love :-)

And they show Aster and Vivian making out because that's what couples do. They are a couple. Go watch any other show on television that features a committed couple in a relationship and see if they don't kiss/make-out. So this show may be disproportionate, but you have to remember that Vivian is the main character, so yeah....you're going to see more of her making out with her main squeeze than a supporting character/someone else. Another thing: It's about darn time for a realistic portrayal! :-)

I like the show. It has really great controversy. It's nice to see kids work through their problems realistically on t.v. But i don't know why the girls are making out half each episode. They are wasting time that could be spent on the characters individual dilemmas. The season 2 premier was a little weird too. Made it hard to fallow what was real or fantasy. There should have been a defining factor, like maybe black and white, or fuzzy around the edges of the screen. Just a suggestion. I would like to see more of the show focused on the dads struggles too. What is he doing to deal with is injuries and social standing? This show has great potential but needs more work, and a lot more character development. And i want to wax Vivians eyebrows. Lol.

The season season of this show about the affects of love and life in a post 9-11 world is shaping up to be an incredible ride. During the first season we were treated to a rich and colorful landscape of characters just trying to find a way to fit...in life and in love. In season two we are treated to the after affects of the choices and decisions made by characters that by now you have grown to love. Anyone But Me takes us to a place we haven't quite been invited into before and makes us feel right along with the characters in this incredible journey called love.
