Although the first few episodes were bumpy, I really got into this series. Is Delahoy going to a doctor finally? Will Banks get killed? Will Eddie Alvarez make it to the top, even though he doesn't want it? Beaumont and Walsh? Did Cole get a life do-over? Oh, the character development could have gone on and on.
I was even finally finally getting used to Amber Tamblyn in a starring role. Before this series, I saw her as the kid from general hospital. I never saw Traveling Pants or Joan of Arcadia because my conception stayed at Emily Quartermaine. This convinced me she could do adult roles.
My only true beef with this series was the dispatcher voice running in the episodes. I get it's supposed to be like M*A*S*H, but there was only one M*A*S*H, don't try and duplicate it. Perhaps if they had changed the dispatcher to a less annoying voice and left out the personal observations. It's supposed to be suble, not pinch your nose and say something lame.
Anyway, what's the point now. This series was cancelled in 2009 and it just came in front of my eyes now. Too late.
Let's end this on a positive note. hulu, even with it's droning commercials, should be applauded for providing these programs for new eyes to see and appreciate. All these actors have some more experience under their belt and they are ready for more adventures in front of the camera. See you in television heaven, Unusuals! You deserve it.
