I LOVE the book series... It is my number one fav in fact... The plot is sooo complex the characters are so deep and engaging. The underlieing focus is captivating.... the books actually change the way you view the world plus they are amazingly entertaining! I am very often disappointed in movies turned into books... or tv shows in this case. It truely pisses me off when they change key and important information. In this case, comparing the books to the tv show would be like if someone turned a mozart (or any other great composers) peice into a modern hip hop dance.... it would be entertaining but almost a mockery... It's like Michael Bubble trying to sing Frank Sinatra.... stupid poser.... 1# complaint.... Richard is scrauny, which is soooo not the way he is described in the book.... He is not hot enough... AND his character seemed to be the worst acter.... He should be the strongest character well actually equal to kahlan.
2# complaint.... It is only loosely based off of the books.... come on... couldn't they at least follow the same plot.... HAVE THE ACTERS EVEN READ THE BOOKS?!?!? NOOOOOO!
3# complaint.... Kahlan was not someone I looked up to nor wanted to be she was blah....
4# WHERE IS THE CHEMISTRY???? what do the characters even mean to each other??? If I didn't know the background of the story I would have been totally lost coming into it.... There were some areas they did ok in....
1# Cara's actress is attractive and did a pretty good job. They couldn't possibly create the depth of her character on tv though. so I say thumbs up to her!
2# Zed's character was ok... I always invisioned him to be a little more gandolf-ish though....
