But thats why I watch this show. The moment I saw the title, I was like here we go again. Another silly portrayal of Americans etc...

Chief Running Water. Huge feather headdress, wears turquoise trinkets, moccasins and warpaint, has a tomahawk, smokes a piece pipe, cross-legged, in front of a tee-pee while drums are playing. His first line is, "How.". Hmm....

I hope kids don't think Native Americans are really like this anymore. When I was a kid (in the eighties) "Indians" were sometimes portrayed like this! In kids cartoons!

On that note, isn't it weird that Americans still call Natives "Indians"? 519 years after Columbus! 391 years since Plymouth Rock! Calling them "American Indians" doesn't make sense either!

Your entire review achoed my own thoughts. There wasn't really a mystery at all. I'm not even sure why they put this episode in with the others. I do like the fact that they made Watson a more adventuresome type though. He seems to be doing most of the fisticuffs and other 'hands on' efforts in this series. A pleasant change from his otherwise 'blundering sidekick' they made him in almost every early Holmes film.

I have really enjoyed the series so far, watching from episode 1. But this one is really different. It is hardly Holmes at all, but rather a comedy... of the absurd variety. "Bison Jack"? a substitute for "Buffalo Bill" of course. But what bad acting for the supposed Americans. Unless they intended it to be a total spoof. I couldn't stop laughing it was so ludicrous. But I hope they return to more authentic Holmes stories rather than bad stereotypes.

I can only figure that the policeman studied American Indians, as he seemed to know the details of the tomahawk.

How did the policeman know what the Native American said especially if he was speaking in Blackfoot? Huh?
