I appreciate the challenges people trying to lose weight face. I'm trying to lose weight myself. I realize that these people are on restricted diets, but what I don't appreciate is people treating other people like garbage.
I've worked in the restaurant industry for about five years, and people can be incredibly mean. I will work hard to try to accommodate dietary requirements if people are kind to me. What I think Bob and Jillian don't realize is that it is INCREDIBLY difficult to do so. If you MUST make changes to the menu, please be polite and understand that your food will probably take much longer. Restaurants have menus for many reasons -- efficiency, quality control, and taste are among them. The chefs at a restaurant are not your personal staff, and fine dining restaurants are not Burger King. It's fine to make requests within reason, but PLEASE be patient and tip accordingly.
