Wow - what a lot of sourpusses out there. I'm just shocked considering the wretchedness of most tv fare. This episode was good! No, it wasn't great, but it was still better than 80% of the crapola out there. I'm an old fart and I had absolutely no problem with the subject matter. I enjoy the actress who plays the daughter and was glad to see her with a bit more to do. As to the music, the producer/manager said that she was gonna be the next Gwen Stefani! YEESH! So what do you expect? She's young and just starting out. Why does she have to be magnificent? Can't she just be pretty good with potential? My god I am so sick of all this over-the-top extreme nit-picking malicious criticism. And you guys with the ego problems really need to get over yourselves. ENJOY something for a change instead of sitting there taking notes of every teeny tiny eensy weensy thing you hate. The show is supposed to be FUN!

Very good but, understandably, not for younger audience! You have to see enough to understand this script, mixing the generations, three in this case. Actors did well, and whoever complains about "simple" script, really have to live a couple more year. You can only put a story in a compressed format in TV, much less than for example in book and definitely much, much less than in real life. Castle may not be the greatest but it really has right attitude, actors, whatever. That aside - I hope this doesn't get canceled, so much better than some "reality" shows!

Look, I realize I'm not the target demographic, but this was a horrendously predictable, Diagnosis Murder quality plot. Add insult to injury with the horrible singing throughout. The show's earlier episodes started with some promise, but I'd expect a little better from a show that has Stephen Cannell and James Patterson guest star in cameos should aspire to provide slightly higher quality than this drivel. Hope Ep 8 is better, or it's off the Hulu list.

I really like this show! How I wish they would hire new writers! This story was so predictable-why not have one of the peripheral characters be the guilty party? They could have done more with her troubled relationship with her sister. The sister could have done it from jealousy. This story has been done so many times. Trusted father figure betrays trust and kills to cover up his crime. Get new writers I beg of you before the show gets canceled!

This is one of the best shows on television although I am still unable to solve who the perpretrator of the crime until near the end. This time I figured it out earlier though, so my sleuth skills are improving. So I must be getting better just as long as nothing is misplaced and characters are trying to find whatever it is then I consider myself improving in mystery solving. Otherwise I really am lousy at finding misplaced items and that would create a setback of sorts thus offsetting the progress I have made. That said...This was a great episode, it showed how difficult life can be for those suffer from heroin addiction. The drug is not like any other. If you take heroin one time 3 days in a row, you have no choice but to take it the fourth. By then you're thinking why not, it felt so good the other 3 times and I would rather feel good again than be vomiting, so you take it the fourth day. After you know it, you are $200,000 poorer and it's 2 or 3 years later, you're waking up in a barn. Of course you spent the past 3 months hanging out in Wisconsin Dells with a non drug using Greek ship owning multi millionaire named Ari eating bachelor breakfasts (one boiled egg, toast and a cup of coffee) after bartime and evenings spent laughing so hard you cried but in end, life has funny way of telling you when it's time to get clean. That was 8 or 9 years ago. God Ari was funny, the kind of person you hangout with and talking to each other is going to have everyone at the table or bar laughing so hard. Him and his dang accent, plus his Studio 54 stories. My buddie's sister was married to Ari, she was a model during those days. Anyways sorry for getting off subject somewhat.Just wanted to say thanks to the cast and crew of Castle for this episode, it was a good well written and acted story. People with heroin drug addictions have a 5% chance of getting clean. The other 95% can't get unaddicted and eventually die. If you want to know where most of it's coming from.... Afghanistan.
