I don't know why people bash this show so much, yes the dialogue is a bit...rugged - Its still a good watch.

I enjoyed this show when it first came out, it fascinated me. Because it had depth, something that many shows lack - I felt myself wondering who and what he was, and I made up my own theories. Though this show takes the "know it all" hero role a bit to the side, it foreshadowed many popular shows nowadays. (House, Bones, Numbers, which I think is a horrible show, etc) I believe that if it was given a 2nd season, with better screenwriters, to tighten up the dialogue, it would've been a all time classic.

I seem like the show better than you do, but I agree that all the inconsistencies annoy me-- especially the part about John's secrecy about is amnesia yet he chooses the name "John Doe" for himself. I also don't get why it takes so long for other people to figure out he doesn't remember his past. It seems that would be the first conversation you'd have with any person you met named John Doe. I also think that if I was hanging out with someone who was having blackouts and losing time, I'd get them to a doctor not yell at them for acting strange-- but maybe that's me. Despite all my complaints, however, I still seem to be watching.

Yeah, except that John Doe aired 3 years before Kyle XY. Know your facts before you start bashing a show for copying another. Especially when all it takes is a Google search. I suggest bookmarking Wikipedia. See 3 other replies

I'm a sucker for shows like this. I may watch a few more episodes. The dialog is almost the worst I've ever heard. Sounds like an episode of "Guy Noir".

I've seen inconsistencies in other shows such as X-Files and Smallville. So there's nothing new there. I loved this show wished they hadn't canceled it. I'm one of those people that love to learn so being "edutained" was great! Keeps my mind thinking instead of just being passively entertained. Like in the episode where John Doe pours sugar in Frank's wound. You never know when that may come in handy. BTW honey's better. Any way love the show, miss the show, and I keep watching these. Thanks Hulu.
