I think he'll have *some* truth to offer, like Micheal Moore did when he started (and still does -- however convoluted), but I can see already from the preview that he places too much emphasis on 'peak oil' and builds his whole scenario around that. Hate to say it, but if he weren't in someone's pocket we wouldn't be seeing a major motion picture from him at all.

But for those who can hear my message; you can still learn quite a bit from media propaganda -- once you've understood the dynamics involved. I'll be seeing it with that in mind. See 5 other replies

I worked my way through college at the same camera store with the director, Chris Smith, worked. I didn't hang out with him too much, but I can tell you, he was not the kind of person who would participate in some sort of big-media propaganda piece. He was pretty introverted and creative. In Japan they would call him "otaku." I'm pretty amazed that he's made these films. See 5 other replies

There are plenty of other people who have predicted the financial crisis. People like Peter Schiff and other Austrian economists. This guy does not seem so special, he is just speaking common sense.

I like how the Onion is one of their review references.

This might be entertaining. Like most movies in this category it will most likely be exaggerated and alarmist but behind every story is usually some grains of truth. In the event it sucks at least I can make fun of how insane it is.
