in my opinion. While there is the whole high school, teen angst, love triangle plot line is very 80's, the fact that the vampire is evil and must be stopped is more enjoyable than the sullen, regretful, and sympathetic blood sucker or the metro-sexual and sparkling teen heartthrob. I know I sound old fashioned, but I like the idea of the vampire being a villain, not the hero.
