30 rock is pretty funny, but it appeals to a very dumb demographic. Both the setting and the characters are completely unrelateable. It's one laugh track short of a formula 90's sitcom. Sunny is the ho-ho's of comedy. It's lousy, and bad for your insides, but sometimes it's the only thing available. And the Office is great, but they're getting too big for their own britches, and starting to lose that gritty realism both in the situations and the characters. Being a community college student myself, as well as an ex-Spanish major at a well respected university, and having my share of horrible teachers, and awkward patchwork social circles, this is just what the doctor ordered. Relateability, quick humor, real characters, and good chemistry. I just hope that they get back to what the show is all about, namely, nothing. The over-the-top antics that ensued in the second season were fun, but detracted from the relateability. Still the second funniest show right now, in my opinion. (Parks and Rec went from wobbly to hardcore hilarious in 2 seasons) That's my take.   See 2 other replies

To be honest, it hasn't quite lived to the high expectations I had for it. But that's because of the commercials and, as I mentioned on another post, I minored in Spanish and I'm the daughter and the niece of Spanish teachers. And the daughter of a community college alumnus, who frankly, doesn't always like the portrayal in the show. I agree with you, though. The show is funny enough, but if it is given a chance to get into its own groove, it could be as amazing as other single-camera shows like The Office, 30 Rock, or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.   See 2 other replies
