This is listed as a comedy. I didn't laugh once. That's okay, just think Hulu could put up a 'Romance' genre rather than include it merely as a subchannel of 'Comedy', or make it a subchannel of 'Drama' instead.
The lead actor was too old for her, with way too much mileage and baggage. There didn't seem to be a point to that, other than some murky scenes with the exes. His acting wasn't great either. Didn't care for the 'disc jockey' element in the film.
The lead actress is a thinker, and the film done with such care that one may guess, for example, what she is thinking while watching the lung fish in one scene.
In their dialogue, the camera work seemed off-tempo with the script, so subtleties in their conversation were lost in confusion of who saying what.
Lovely Indian music constant throughout, but ill-matched. At one point I wondered if it was a commentary on the badly matched couple.
A little too much work for the attentive viewer, and yet not enough fluff to allow one to grasp the film while doing something else. So, already in a small subgenre, the film is further marginalized.
Still, it's an artistic film with plenty of nice touches.
