Those Buicks are cool! Maybe 1957 Centuries or Specials. That old school bus brought back some memories too. The police Harley motorcylces would command some serious coin today. It's all a little before my time but the childhood memories come flooding back. I'd race home from school just in time to watch afternoom reruns.
As for the episode, I think its funny how Mathew kills that convict in the restraunt parking lot and is so calm about it. It's as if he just mailed a letter instead of ending a life. I think this must have has some kind of tramatic effect upon my consciousness as a boy. "Look, he was a bad man. So what? It's no big deal if bad people die."
We think today's TV shows are violent but I feel not much has changed in 50 years. Mr. Brodrick is a father figure in this show. He kills a guy and then he's off to the circus with some dead cop's kids. That is frikkin cold cold cold.
