Actually you're dead wrong. While apple buys their hardware from the same companies, they often have custom-made, limited edition hardware, like when they get chipsets and processors from Intel that noone else gets (e.g. MacBook Air and some Mac Pro models).
Also, and more importantly, hardware does not just mean processor, graphics cards, memory and harddrives, this isn't the 1970's anymore. What about multitouch trackpads, 8 hour long batteries in full featured laptops, single piece designs, thinnest desktops and laptops, etc. etc.
Finally, there is hardware design and quality- look at any other company and their computer "designs" are no better than what I could make on my own in my basement- generic cases (with their logo painted on, or some funky, ugly-a** colors) with stock parts thrown in and cable and wire hell inside, and inefficient space heaters. Apple hardware on the other hand, is truly "designed" for space and heat efficiency, maximum power efficiency and yes, good looks.
