What the hell is the deal with Washington referring to his partner LaRue with the nickname "Lover"?!?

Could he possibly have come up with a more gay nickname than that? If I was LaRue I would have knocked Washington's teeth down his throat the first time he called me that..... :)

I vaguely remember when this was on. I was so young, but the song alone brings back a lot of memories. This a great show that stands the test of time. I'm glad it's on HULU. Sometimes I think they should do more advertising, a montage of the shows new and old available as a 20 second TV ad.
