I tried to keep my interest alive in this black and white oldie-but-goodie..The acting seems so stiff and proper..I realize this was made in the 40's and this reflects the movies at that time..It is a great movie for viewers that prefer the milder (not wilder) side of the horror genre.

Basil is the best Sherlock of all the men who have played the role. This duo excells in the dramatic process and leave me looking forward to the next time I can find one of Doyles stories so well done.
