I enjoyed this episode alot....the filming came off as not intrusive (sometimes when watching similiar shows on MTV/BET/MuchMusic/et al you get the since the artist is playing up to the cameras and you receive less of a 'natural' feel), allowed us to see some of that stellar personality that is the mos def persona and we received a little insight into the artistry behind his craft.
As an aside I enjoyed how the episode gave an opportunity for the viewer who may or may not be hip hop aficionados to see the brilliance and art of hip hop. hip hop's most compelling quality is it's ability to contextualize and synthesize the elements that make the whole of its world....whether it's music (mc'ing/spoken word/dj'ing/producing), art (graffiti/graphic design/fashion), dance (bboying, cheorography) etc.
also, i had an opportunity to catch the concert this summer when he did a show at governor's island (an island off of manhattan nyc) and it was a really chill special evening....the crowd was great, mos showed us some of his drumming skills, and of course we had the backdrop of the nyc....if you have an opportunity to catch his show should - do so.
