I have to admit, I just started watching this show from Season 2 on. I might have missed some great moments between Roth and his coworkers, but I know now that I already am hooked on this show. There's a certain time when a television show branches off into specific directions; a show gets worse in terms of writing and acting, and everything goes downhill from there, or, in this case, a show could begin to bloom into something much more than its plot, characters and storyline. As a show such as Lie to Me can be compared to House, M.D. (which is an uncanny comparison, mind you), there contains the main character who has a personality flair, something that makes us listen, makes us watch. Hugh Laurie has learned this trick long ago, and as a result, House is well into its 6th season. What Roth has built for himself thus far is not enough for the life of the show, not by a long shot. In this specific episode, 'Control Factor,' his character was at ease with being possessed by the amazing Tim Roth. The line comes to mind: "He's with the police, or the drug cartel." By both expanding his character and expanding himself, Roth could easily compete with, or possibly top, TV's most interesting and recognizable personalities. Let's just not burn him out in the process.
