Hulu - Movie Trailers: Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

It makes sense why people will/are quickly dismiss this film. First it is a remake of a movie that already has pretty decent fan base. Second, Nick Cage is starring in the remake.

HOWEVER, this MOVIE IS VERY ENTERTAINING. It is very different compared to the original, especially since there is a lot of humor in this new movie.

Nick Cage is not my favorite actor, but he has made some fun movies and it is always entertaining to see him go over-the-top. He is one of the few actors who knows how to over act without looking like a hack. Like Jack Nicholson, Daniel Day Lewis, and Gary Oldman, Nick Cage was born to play crazy characters.

As a film buff, I highly recommend this movie.

I preferred the unofficial trailer that leaked a few weeks that contained more on screen drug use and swearing. It also seemed a lot crazier. I'm disappointed the scene where Nic Cage is beating up the old lady didn't make the cut in this trailer. Oh well, still looking forward to this movie and it's nice to see Cage trying for once and not completely phoning it in - he can be quite good when he puts some effort into it.

When I quickly read Bad Lieutenant filmed in NOLA, I couldn't wait to check this out. Then I realized Nick Cage was starring in it & not Harvey Keitel. This looks like a painfully miserable movie.

Just watch "Bad Lieutenant" starring Harvey Keitel, awesome film. Forget you ever watched this trailer.

but this one looks it could teeter between intelligently independent and crudely outlandish but at least Cage seems to have stretched his acting muscle beyond just standing there for the number of takes it takes to get his paycheck.

nicholas cage needs to go back to finding treasure or stealing cars
