Only 2007? It felt older. Something about the quality of everything! I liked the storyline and wondering what she would do next, if she would fall in love and BEHAVE, but certain things were annoying as they were engaging(the scenery, cute actors, psychobabble). The subtitles were awful...."HIS husband loved HIM but he was jealous of HIS long flowing hair?" altered to avoid spoiler but the pronouns were messed up like that! I laughed, they always do that! Apip and Bin those acronyms.....tacky....."over and out!":P But he was trying to impress her, typical male feather puffing. What else? I loved what Latanya wrote here....she DID repeat that phrase overrrr and OVERRRR but I liked how that turned out! :)))) It has one twist here since he was a good cop and he turned out to be just as stupid, talking within the range of the BIN? tsk tsk Really it looked like he'd never seen a cop movie where cop goes down for classic mistakes like that. Her conversations with Sarika dragged on and on and I didnt get anything out of them. If we were supposed to gain compassion for her or insight, it did the reverse because some WOMEN as well as men have short attention spans and tune out after a long monotonous speech! They have no insight on the way our minds work I guess!
I did wondered if this reflects something else? Do the directors and those high up really think people's intellect is this childlike???? Is it a tribute to how far we've come evolution-wise? Or is it a mockery of some of the Classic Bollywood quirks? Who knows. People back in 1000 B.C. with not much visuals or written words DID indeed love long orally narrated tales and needed important CLUES like Six no SIXTH to be repeated/reinforced, so they could feel brilliant (not that the audience had doubts about who the femme fatale was) but I guess watching the detective piece it together was supposed to be exciting for us or aggravating to the point of screaming in the midst of a packed theatre....."Yesss, its her wake up you idiot!" And there are movies that draw out our vocal impatience or make us burst with laughter. On the other hand it did help me distinguish her words, assuming she was completely nuts/neurotic, I thought she was just repeating Sixth Sense but she was having issues with the placements of Six and Sixth! The music was more annoying than typical....but really, after seeing a few movies like these, you get USED to all these little foibles except for the SUBTITLES!!! 2007!!! There is no excuse. What makes it all worth watching though, is learning about her; about what triggered her vindictive streak and why that Taxi driver and the building attendant gave her all those strange glances in the beginning. I actually thought I missed something or they were hypersensitive or chauvinistic. Slap on the forehead, loved that, you might too!!! LOL. That was good, really good, because I never quite got over their reaction to (HIS :P) motherly concern and they were smart enough to get back and address it! The smarts are there! lol You have to wait for them a bit......
After unearthing her profile, the ending could have been better, since she did provide a kind of service as some kind of Dark avenging Angel. The wives would have done the same thing but the depth of retribution would not be there and I doubt they would have looked this good and felt such vindication. What makes a femme fatale even more intriguing is her escape. No, she was not as good as Sharon Stone because she was not smart about handling her grammar or her Michael Douglas. Had they switched the cops around so that the second one learned of what had happened to her, this could have been a really interesting tale............ Then again, I dont know? This story really made men look like knights with shiners. That hubby was really pathetic. No, for this story to have balance, the cop/hero should have been used to turn this pathetic perception around and to transform her along the way. More classic mistakes for a dark romance?
