I see a lot of people complaining about how craptastic the premiere episode was. To be honest, the bad writing of the "new" television series matters a whole lot less to me than the continued and increasing LAZINESS of just about everyone involved in the movie and television industry the last ten years.
Who cares if they did a lousy job of keeping the viewer in suspense? It's not as if suspense were even a possibility since it's a bleeding REMAKE, the original of which has been airing on the SciFi channel in an almost continuous loop for days now. Anyone who might be interested in watching this show has more than likely already seen the original at least once and already knows all the important plot points. There are no spoilers because all the cats are long since out of the bag.
Personally, I bemoan the fact that TV/Movie people are either too brainless, apathetic or both to do more than regurgitate predigested material. The message I'm getting from them is that either the writers have lost all creative ability or they think the viewing public is too stupid to notice that they can't be bothered to even TRY for originality any more.

I just can't get into this show because I can't believe it, and here are 2 reasons why:
1. Skin covered lizards would never pass an FBI physical.
2. An FBI agent who knows of such high level infiltration would not be sneaking around on her own like a paranoid conspiracy theorist, enlisting the help of some priest she just met.

It doesn't help that this program is making use of a tired concept... aliens coming to take over the planet. It could've at least had some original writing.
Instead, we have kid mixing in with the alien crowd... gee, how many times has THAT concept been used? And why does he mix in with this crowd? Because of a girl. Wow, you can find this storyline under the definition of "unpredictable." Am I right or what?
Didn't ABC try something like this with Invasion? As cliche as that show was in some parts, it also had some interesting, original concepts going on, which this show currently lacks.
The only reason why I watch is because it has the chick from Lost.

it's really cheesy. And nothing the "v's" do makes sense. I mean, if the v's were so tech powerful, couldn't they just blow the humans to bits and forget all this stupid stuff about trying to sneakily take over the world? And, how many movies/tv shows have there been with aliens hiding inside human skins?? That bit was just way to silly. And what about everyone running around screaming when the giant spaceships appeared (yawn)? And everyone (even the humans) are wayyy to good looking. I hate unrealistic beauty on tv; it's just...unrealistic. AND, what about the name "v's" (lol, couldn't they be a bit more creative??) Now, all of that said, the pilot did keep me entertained for a few minutes. I don't plan on watching the rest of the show, though.

The new "V" is part of a new phenomenon among major broadcaster's to overcome the cheap-shot antics of reality programming and return to television that is, well, more worthy of the airwaves and broad-bands that carry its signal. Like most viewers, I am less rabidly critical of the minutia of shows such as "V" or "FlashForward" as I am in awe of the quality of cinematography, acting, direction, and beautiful use of effects and animations, that these shows provide. I am almost shocked to find myself wanting to turn on the TV or watch here on HULU after so many years of being so let down. I stand in fascination of a "Tv" renaissance, and stand in greater stupification that major studios have made the brave decision to sponsor great shows. This is really Hollywood quality programming minus the cost of cinema tickets. Everything loses its novelty at some point, but for now I can't think of anything more I could ask of a show.
I think Damon Knight ("How To Serve Man") would be quite satisfied.

I, like many others, was a big fan of the original series. I loved it up until they started to get a little too stupid (hybrid child, special powers, etc... please).
However, I, unlike so many here, understand there were many principles used in the original series that just won't work in today's world. Working at a nuclear plant? Aliens eating people? Nazi like "peace" organization? On top of the old school style news: camera man with female reporter... things just won't mesh well. ABC clearly had to update the events and characters of the original show. Thank god for Science-Fiction; you can do that!
And they've done a good job, so far. Alien sleeper cells - that was a nice twist (seriously, what intelligent civilization just "shows up" without first checking out the planet they are visiting?). There isn't much else that you can really pull from this show yet. I liked what they've done so far though. You have your typical busy mother, with son that loves her, but yet rebellious for his own desires. They made the priest a more primary role, which was interesting. I guess it's to appeal more to the religious side? I don't know. I'm really more interested now in learning who are the other sleepers on Earth. And I clearly need to see their *true* faces in this series. How are they hiding all the extra-facial bones? Or do they have extra facial structures in this series?? And what is their true intent? Eating humans just seems ... well ... too far fetched in today's world. It doesn't make sense with some events that have already taken place, too. But, I could be wrong.
Well, two episodes in, there isn't much. But what is currently there is shaping up to be an interesting ride. I'll definitely keep watching -- as long as Hulu keeps updating. (people still watch cable? 0.o)

V has all the makings of a complete failure; poor casting choices, Bad writing, and a uninteresting plot. The only thing good about this show is special effects and that not help. First they change the sex of the lead hero in the 80 show we had Michael Donovan Television journalist cameraman who lost his little boy and now we have Erica Evans, an FBI counter-terrorism agent who from the pilot is really bad at her job (her own partner what to kill her) and she a terrible mother with a teenage son who is too stupid to be real. Who of course hate his mother and love is father this boy has lot of daddy issues great. I wanted the V to kill or eat this boy 1 minute after I saw him. Then it really get bad Father Jack Landry, a priest who discovery of the Visitors' secret WOW. Just had to add religion to the show that will go well (like it did for defying gravity) and lastly we have Ryan Nichols, a Visitor sleeper agent posing as human who if you think about it been making, sleeping with and now want to marry his food that is if they are still eating human like in the 80 version how sick is that it like twilight. I don’t want to eat you I just want to be friends. Just sad.

I loved it then. I so far have enjoyed this series, only a couple of episodes into it, but with the current technology thats available, the series has really come into its own. Nothing really different from the original from what I remember, but much the same in the way that Battlestar Galactica was the same, but had some differences as well to the original. All in all, I hope that this keeps up.
