While I'm not Roman Cathlic . i am Chrisitan so far they have shown sensitivty to the church. I find it interesting they would go there most tv shows try to stear clear of faith and the roles of faith leaders. I would stress this how ever please not do not diminish the example of the character is representing the church.
I have no problems in the depiction of this character and I'm impressed with his development. I would find it interesting if the cardinal was one of them now that would be a interesting twist in the plot.

Part 3 of my implausible points about V:
Other points if they could take out the control system of a military fighter it would have destroyed every transistor of electronic components in the local area . If they were using a directed EM weapon. There are weapons out there that do this but they don't work too well . It generally causes problems for every one not the intended target. However if the Aliens have directed energy weapons (they use anti gravity by staying afloat & on their space ships) which is lacking in our arsenal. Antigravity would also be a formidable weapon. They also have infrared sensors & devices but if the aliens are cold blooded they wouldn't give off heat so their heat signature would be different. It would be easy to know who is real & fake by feeling or measuring body temperature. They would not match human norms if they are hollow inside. They wouldn't have the same mass both fluid and thermal masses. They would be sensitive to cold if they are cold blooded. . Their metabolism wouldn't function like ours .
All glaring differences in this show. I amuse in my speculation but this show is also a speculation. Subject to interpenetration.
