Un-Go

This anime is based upon the writings of Ango Sakaguchi, thus the philosophical war-focus. It has a Sherlockian-esque feel to it. Presenting mystery and having a detective solve it through deductions. However there is a very supernatural element added as well. This does not interfere with the enjoyment of mysteries in my opinion, but simply adds another layer on what to take into account when seeking to solve the mysteries along with the "defeated detective."I felt the visuals were good. Though the text can fly by quick in certain areas (which has character introductions and signs) and may, in the beginning, require a couple pauses. I enjoyed the art and flow of the animation.
The audio was great. I enjoyed the musical elements. And felt they were well with the show and story-telling.
The story is connected and you have to be careful not to skip ahead. You will become quickly lost or late in information if you miss any part. So it is something you want to watch when you feel safe from distractions. It does move pretty fast and does rely on more supernatural elements later on, but again the mystery-solving aspect never goes away. Overall I recommend it. It was not full what I was looking for when I watched it. And I was thrown a bit on the supernatural element. But I did enjoy it and hope they consider expanding the project and making more episodes. And hope that Hulu adds the Episode 0 (prequel) to the line-up.
