Perhaps I don't have the right mindset watching this series, but I really haven't a clue what the show is trying to point out. At first glance, it seemed to be a show about race. The mere fact that it's title, "True Colors" also indicates as such.
But each time I watch an episode/clip, I walk away feeling like the true nature of the subject has nothing to do with race but human responses to being thrown into odd situations. Granted the show is listed in the "comedies" section, I still do not feel it has any comedic value either. At the end of each clip, the intended "targets" let out a forced laugh along with the "actors".
Honestly nothing about this show appeals to be, as it has presented neither the comedic value nor any discussion on race. The mere fact that I watch them is more out of curiosity then anything else. I'm often wondering who produces these clips because anyone funding this sort of stuff is either an incredible genius(who understand some deep value this show presents) or a lunatic with lots of money.
"As for the rest of the previous reviewers, I don't think you quite got it either."Yup, you're right and everyone else is wrong. You sound just like the pretentious, self righteous, condescending pricks I went to college with. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we went to the same school--especially given your rather zealous disposition towards correcting people in the proper "recognition and affirmation of difference."Oh, wait....let me give it a try too! PSCP Mode ON: Your rhetoric on dominant ideology/culture clearly shows your lack of understanding of cultural theory, in particular consensus versus control/domination, within the context of American history.
