Tracey Ullman: State Of The Union

What is everyone's problem? First of all, if you knew anything about Tracey Ullman, its that she's a genius. Realize that its her and only her doing all these personalities and voices. I also don't know why everyone's offended by her Black character at the airport? Its not like this is the first time she's done it. She has also done it on her hit HBO series "Tracey Takes On". Its nothing new for Ullman fans. Every Saturday night on SNL Fred Armisen Plays Obama, and nobody has a problem with it. Dave Chappelle played a black KKK member and nobody had a problem with it.
I am American and I believe Americans should not have a choice on what is entertainment and what isn't. If Jersey Shore, The Kardashians, and Celebrity Apprentice are the HIT shows in America right now, then the people are as dumb as Ms. Ullman portrays them.
And by the way, There is nothing racist about her black character so get over your self, black people. She's a woman who writes, produces, and performs all these characters. SHE NEEDS RESPECT!!!

I won't watch anything with blackface. Someone should've told Tracey that blackface is a huge cultural taboo in the States. Whatever her views are on the issue, it's just not an unacceptable thing for a person to do. I don't care if her old show on Fox TV had the original Simpsons shorts. Tracey Ullman just isn't funny and, frankly, is clueless. Tell you what, folks. Next time you need someone who has sensitivity to race issues in the United States, give me a call and ask my opinion. I'll only charge you 50 bucks, and you'll avoid making any more embarassing mistakes like this one. (And I'm really angry that you've soiled Dvorak by playing his music over the preview. He's too good for that.)

I don't think I have ever really, truly hated a show before this one. This is the most obnoxious woman with obnoxious writing. I can't believe this is actually produced, created and aired and no one sees what a horrible show it is in that process.

I loved her in "I Love You to Death" and I thoroughly enjoyed the old Tracy Ullman Show. But this show ... it's one thing for us to make fun of ourselves, but when some cocky Britt does it it just isn't funny ... it's offensive. Her portrayals of the average american are condescending at best and insulting at worst. I don't like it at all. This kind of humor leaves a bad taste.

Shame on Hulu for airing blackface performances in 2011. Maybe as a Briton Tracey Ullman doesn't know better, but I doubt it. Hulu should definitely know better. They should also know better than to try to sell this kind of bargain-basement Benny Hill-type music hall garbage in America.
