Here's a big problem, hemp is a stronger fiber than other stuff like cotton or polyester. Something made from hemp would last much longer and so would sell less quantity meaning less money revolves around it. In a society that encourages the creation of jobs instead of maintaining actual wealth, like products that last and sustainability, getting hemp legalized will continue to be a struggle but it's happening, slowly but surely. There would be more jobs for everybody if people worked less hours for the same relative pay, if our economic structures were set up with that as the goal instead of creating jobs we would be much better off in the long run.
