When the Three Stooges first signed with Columbia Pictures, their deal was for one short. 1934's WOMAN HATERS, done entirely in rhyme, wasn't a huge success, but the Stooges hit their stride with their second short, PUNCH DRUNKS, and began to settle into their definitive roles - Moe is boss, Larry the middleman and Curly as their foil. It is easy not to take the Stooges seriously, but take a close look at the acting esp Curley. Also the the theme and content can be sophisticated and subtle. Take Hoi Poloi, a satire on Pygmalian where our boys are "made into gentlemen"

I, like many others, who have made comments here, grew up on these guys. But for me, it wasn't until I got invloved in theatre that I realized just how tough comedy really is. To be funny is hard work folks; and to keep it fresh and alive night after night, on the vaudeville stage is nothing less than herculean. I view these guys from a much different perspective now than when I was a kid. The Stooges deserve every bit of immortality that the likes of Laural & Hardy, Chaplan, Buster Keaton, and the rest of the film pioneers have been afforded over time. SPREAD OUT!!!

I loved the one where they were cooks in the middle east and the dog and cat were making noise and the customers thought they were being served the dog.

I used to watch these guys years ago with my younger brother, staying up late just to watch their shows. Hulu did a wonderful job bringing The Stooges where I can enjoy them all once again. Truly an amazing Trio and it's very good to be able to see the past, and appreciate them as they were now.

When I was about 5 yeas old, I smashed my older brother in the face with a frying pan. He didn't go "woop woop woop" ...he just fell down bleeding from the nose. This may have been my first real world lesson about how tv is different than real life. Great memory though. =)

Nice, light-hearted nonsense that's still funny 70 years later.

Useless Trivia: The 3 Stooges were the longest-lived comedy act ever. Spanning 50 years from the 1920's up until their movies of the 1970's.

i used to watch them every day after school , watch the 3-5 pm line up , it was looney tunes , batman tv series adams family the three stooges and then the munsters ,all classic tv , would like hulu to get some of the batman tv series ,
