I have been a fan of Nikki's music since I first discovered the Crue way back in 1982...the man has inspired my own music and life in so many differant ways! I am 46 and still rockin' w/ my own band, have survived my own personal drug hell, lived through a few marriages, and am happy to still be here to live and learn!! The Heroin Diaries was an awesome work that inspired me in so many ways and gave me a kick in the rear to reach out and do my own part in helping people struggling w/ addiction. And now Nikki has presented us w/ another topic of concern, to approach how we have been 'programed' to 'look' at the world around us. So much emphasizes is put on 'how we look', are we pretty, beautiful, handsome, etc...and here he shows us the faces and bodies, and the souls of people who society deem as freakish, and pulls the curtain back to reveal that we are all the same beneath the skin...in that we all feel...pain, suffering, fear, love, hate, joy, and all that makes us human. I can barely put into words my admiration, my appreciation, for what this man does as an artist, as a human being. Thank you Nikki, you are opening eyes on levels I am sure you never thought possible! And for those who may say he is exploiting these people, please, look again, there is more than meets the eye. Yes, It IS Gonna Hurt!
