Patrick Warburton is such a spot-on Tick that I suspect he might BE the Tick. Seriously, have you seen him lately? It's because he's the Tick. The downside of this show is, while subsequent episodes have plenty of laughs, none of them are as magical as the pilot. As the characters move into the realm of typical TV dramas (Captain Liberty's man problems, for ex.), the show loses its comic book flavor. The show needs villain fights like the one against the Russian robot in #1. Still better than most of what's on TV.

I found this show had the same flavor as the old BATMAN show from the 60's, great humor and well written to bad FOX canceled it. Wacth it it's worth your while.

"I like the cut of this man's gibberish"! This show is for a very niche market, but faithfully captures the quirky charm of the cartoon. As noted, Warburton is a great choice for the lead, but I think all four main characters are absolutely *perfectly* cast. I can't remember a better casting job for any series.

Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Rating_full Fun show that died before it's time
As has been stated in previous reviews, Patrick Warburton was the perfect choice to play the Tick. They really did do an admirable job of bringing the Tick to a live action format and I would have loved to see more. Unfortunately, it's one of those things many people just didn't "get".

A good show that never really had a chance
Although I preferred the cartoon version, I thought the live action show was well done. The casting was perfect (who else but Patrick Warburton could possibly play the Tick?). The humor fell a little flat in some places; but, even at its worst, it was still better than the average sitcom. Unfortunately, the concept is just a little too "out there" to appeal to mainstream TV audiences. And, without that sort of "least common denominator" popular appeal, a TV series has no real hope of survival. Sad, but true.
