Thats called communism

Madchen Amick is HOT! We can't forget Shelley from Twin Peaks- greatest TV series ever... She actually has some serious acting chops under the right direction, unlike this crap. I'll be shutting this off about now.

Film rats are doing amazing things!
The movie is decent and definitely worth a watch - and you can take MY word for it as I'm pretty harsh and critical when it comes to movies! This is certainly MUCH better than a lot of the garbage that gets put out there all the time; even the acting is more than bearable and the actors are good-looking enough to be film actors yet "real-looking" enough to pass for a typical NYC rat exterminator and a department store floor manager.
Anyhow, I used to have some rats as pets a few years ago and they are just THE MOST adorable things, so I was laughing my butt off throughout the entire picture! LOL I really loved all the close-up shots of their beady little eyes...how cuuuuute! :D
But what I found REALLY hilarious is how these rats are doing impossible things...such as walking UPSIDE DOWN through underground tunnels (Granted, rats ARE great climbers, but I NEVER saw my rats crawling across my ceiling! Perhaps these guys were bitten by radioactive spiders...???) and how, when they start pouring out into the empty pool, they literally FLY out of the vents like some kind of liquid under high pressure or as if they had wings!! Hahaha!
But that campy stuff is to be expected, and was actually not so bad on the scale of cheesy low-budget horror gags.
What I found a little TOO ridiculous, though, was how the subway conductor was eaten up pretty bad by maybe 50 or so rats, leaving his clothes reduced to ribbons and his ribcage exposed; yet later in the movie, when the woman falls into the pool, she's probably got over 2000 rats crawling ALL OVER her - and the guy takes over a CENTURY to fish her out! - and yet when she's pulled out, her clothing is COMPLETELY intact (spotless, even!) and she's got maybe three MINOR scratches on her face!! Ummm, right...
All in all, though, that's forgivable, like I said, given that this IS a low-budget horror from which you can't expect much. On the contrary, it gives you more than you'd expect with its not-too-cheesy dialogue and plot elements, decent actors, good production value, etc.

I agree with another review I saw on here, that the girl at the beginning had some MIGHTY sexy curves! I just wish they didn't bait us with that right at the beginning and then not give us a bit more skin (at least ONCE MORE) further on in the movie. I mean, that's how you're supposed to do it: either have good nudity only toward the middle or end, or else have good nudity at the beginning followed by AWESOME nudity toward the middle or end, but not the whole bait-and-switch deal they pulled on us here! Grrrr!

Perhaps a little slow by today's movie standards, this is best viewed by those who are bored out of their MIND one day and just need to kill some time. Don't go in expecting something ultra thrilling, however, because with those high standards in mind this will surely feel like a huge clunker snooze-fest throughout most of the film.
The movie's pretty good, though, don't get me wrong! Overall, it's a passable movie, worth a watch if you don't have the option of going out instead. :)

i loved the movie. i mean there was some poor acting here and there and the ending was kinda lame... they also should has elaborated on the testings and fixed some holes in the story but overall great move. but is not a horror more like an action. i would have given 5 stars, except for the ending. ignore others who say its awful, you should watch this movie!

You have got to be kidding. As far as movies go, this was just another Ratty movie. No horror at all. More like a comedy for kids.
