This short series was an excellent idea and show. James Purefoy makes a great leading man and really brings charm to the character. The cast overall is great and really keeps the human story alive.
There have been negative reviews and comments about the theme of the show (big corporation, leading man tries to sleep with women, etc.). However I feel these are obviously shallow and completely show a misunderstanding of character and point, which I feel is evident from just watching the first episode.
The main character is a co-CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation. Who, through a very chaotic event(and related past event), begins to see the fallacy of his company's so-called humanity efforts (not to say such things do not help, just that they can be limited). He wants to be very specific in his help due to personal issues (its called character development, which shows the personal motivation for the character and his ultimate change in perception). He does not pretend to be a hero or great humanitarian, outside of obvious sarcastic remarks, but simply someone who sees that he can help and thus refuses to sit by and do nothing.
It is a great story, fun, fills the action quota, shows good character development thus far (haven't finished the series yet). I think its marketing and title are what ultimately did it in, more then the premise or writing of the show. Definitely a worthy show, should have been given more time.
