Have you noticed some parallels between plots from the original show and the remake? Like the plot for Zzzzzz and Flower Child? It's great to see some of the old ideas get an update. The new series is definitely darker, though--it has no qualms about destroying the human race in any given episode. In the original series I think I have yet to see them end on a hopeless note. You can find most of the missing episodes on youtube. "The Inheritors" is probably the most memorable because of its surprising and emotional ending. The newer series did a remake of that 2 part version and made it in one part. Rest assured the newer version cannot hold a candle to the original. "Controlled Experiment" is as described; whimsical and one my favorites. Perhaps the most important one, which by the way applies aptly to our political climate is "The Special One". Pay very close attention to the narrator's ending comment on this one and you will see how it applies. By the way, who is the narrator's name? See 4 other replies

Okay, I am a fan of black and white movies and television. It just seems to beckon back to a simpler time, a more innocent time. A time when the things portrayed in The Outer Limits were not only possible, but plausible. A time when we were a little less tech savvy and world weary and more open to the possibility of the strange and unexplained than we are today. And I really don't think we know half as much today as we think we do.

This series portrays every day life in new and often frightening ways. From the opening scene to the final credit you are led on a journey of possibilities that twist and bend the imagination in new ways. You are drawn in to the narrative, you become a part of the story, you wonder where the twists and turns will lead. Every episode is well written and surprisingly well acted. The acting rivals anything on the Twilight Zone, as does the writing. The differences between the two are subtle yet apparent.

If you are seeking a show to expand your horizons and explore the boundaries of the possible, this show is every bit as relevant today as it was when first written. Some stories are timeless, and the vignettes illuminate the characters and their circumstance in ways that will take you to....

The one with Eddie Albert would be "Cry of Silence" -- the one with the sentient tumbleweeds.

The reason that episode isn't here is that it's from the show's second -- and final -- season, which Hulu doesn't carry. (And WHY doesn't Hulu carry season #2? That I don't know.)

Yes, pompeiipat, I, too, wish Hulu had the complete "Outer Limits" series here, or at least the handful of better episodes from the 2nd season (e.g., "Demon With a Glass Hand"). I also wish they carried far more of "Babylon 5" than they do and, to return to the good ol' days, that they'd also carry "Men Into Space" (1959-60) and "Science Fiction Theatre" (1955-57). (Finally, I wish Hulu would correct a number errors in their episode listings for "Lost in Space" ... but perhaps I digress.) See 4 other replies
