And this is why it's the marketing that should be blamed for the bad ratings in 2008.

A horrible time slot, after a dating show, with subliminal ads? I found more exposure for the show from youtube, looking for the original seasons.

And then they wonder why the ratings weren't so good. Make a 6th season, with a better timeslot, and better ads, and it'd do much better.

Part game show, part reality show, and part travelogue, this program is quite entertaining.

Both seasons are solid, but the second is far more scenic, as the contestants explore both Switzerland and Italy. Be warned, however, that the second season has an episode that reintroduces the "Mole" from the first season, so do see them in order.

One aspect I sincerely appreciate about the series is the choice by the producers not to “dumb down” the episodes for the basest of viewers. Fine hotels and restaurants are the norm for the contestants, and many games require intelligence, and rarely devolve into “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” kind of fare.

In a nutshell, highly recommended!

That's a bit more complicated. The Mole was made first under Stone Stanley, which then became Stone and Co. Stone and Co. have the rights to the first normal season, but not the second. Thus why it is not out on DVD nor ever re-aired or is online (the best that I know). See 2 other replies

This show, and particularly this season, is the best reality show I've ever seen. Not only is the premise interesting, the people are interesting, the challenges are challenging, and the scenery is gorgeous. And I remember my sister and I so thought it was.... One of the final three, but that person ended up winning... I don't want to spoil it for anyone who didn't have the pleasure of watching it when it came on... Because it's amazing!!!
