Only won ONE Oscar...
Correction, the movie won One Oscar "Best Art Direction-Set Decoration" and was nominated for Three more.
The movie did Win 14 different awards and was nominated for 18. Good film especially if you like history... Was this review helpful?

Best film I've seen on Hulu
A winner of 18 Oscars, this is a very entertaining historical film about King George III, whom most Americans know only as the tyrant whose tax policies helped foment the American Revolution (and the size of John Hancock's signature) neither of which figure into this story about an aging monarch's bouts with dementia.
Great performances by Nigel Hawthorne, Helen Mirren, Ian Holm, Rupert Graves. Excellent script, cinematography, costumes, art direction, and the music (Handel) as orchestrated by George Fenton, is superb and used to great effect. Nice choice, Hulu! Was this review helpful?

VERY GOOD !
GOOD CHOICE TO OFFER THIS MOVIE FOR THE PUBLIC TO SEE . I DON'T FIND MANY MOVIES YOU OFFER THAT ARE OF SUCH GOOD QUALITY. PLEASE OFFER MORE INTELLIGENTLY CREATED FILMS AS THIS ONE . A MOVIE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THRILLING NOR EXCITING TO BE A GOOD STORY WHICH THIS MOVIE WAS.

Truly magnificent!
This was an extremely well documented historical movie that was a really genuine treat. Well worth watching. The exquisite costumes are to perfection and it is so well acted that you are drawn right in. Sir Nigel Hawthorneâs performance of King George III of England was nothing short of brilliant. Helen Mirren delivered perfectly in her portrayal as his queen. There are many even admirable period pieces but this one moved and touched my senses. What a bonus!
