Take off the trash like Scare Tactics and other stupid reality shows and bring back quality entertainment like the Dresden Files. Let the characters develop as they were showing great potential. Bring back these shows and develop a Second season for The Dresden Files.

Splatterpunk/Noir. It defines its own unique niche genre. Kudos to the creators and fie to anyone involved in it's non-renewal. Not a clone of the books it is named for, but a great tribute. It gets the spirit of the novels just right. He's not the same Harry, but we get to see more stories about Harry. What's not to love.

I have to chime in with a "me, too." This was one of the few shows which caught my interest before I finally canceled my cable subscription. As another posted mentioned, I also got a bit of a thrill out of "Lost Room." There was a time when SciFi seemed on a mission to carry such shows with gusto and stand by them during the move into greater popularity. I am not versed on the history of SciFi and NBC, but it seems like popularist bucket-heads have taken over and do not understand the effects of a cult following.
Take movies like "Evil Dead" and "Army of Darkness," or shows like "Firefly." Not big at first, but all developed quite a following. "Buffy" is another great example of a which did not garner much attention at first, but grew by leaps and bounds to become wildly popular. From my vantage, it appears that the powers that be saw how much of a cash cow SciFi shows that "hit it" right off can be and keep trying to find one more show that "hits it" on the first season, without taking into account how valuable a long-term following can be. My personal example of this is "SG-1." I really was not very impressed with the first couple of seasons and stopped watching, meanwhile others stayed glued to the series. I finally got hooked on the show three seasons before it was shut down. And just think of what would have happened if "Babylon 5" had been canceled after the first season -- that show is a masterpiece of science fiction which just got better and better as time went on after a poor pilot and a fairly slow first season (oh, yeah, Hulu, MORE SEASONS, please!) Another example is "Battlestar Galactica," which took me until after the first season to get hooked. I kept missing it and never thinking twice about it until a weekend marathon of the mini-series and the first season, and not only was I hooked, but I managed to get a lot of my friends hooked on it as well. So, perhaps SciFi could put on a second run of "Dresden Files" first season, see how popular it really is, and then spin it back up for a new season. Perhaps.

It's sad that you can't find decent shows like this on television anymore. God forbid a show should have a plot, dynamic characters, and a semi-unique edge. Instead we get stuff like American Gladiators. Sad. Very Sad.
I wished they'd bring this back. Reminds me of show in the vein of Highlander the Series (when it was good) mixed a little with "Forever Night".

I actually had to sit down when I learned they cancelled such a great show. The had the potential to take SciFi mainstream and SciFi blew it. Now they have umpteen dinosaur monster variant movies that should allow Asimov to come back and slap them around.

I hear Sci-Fi's working on a new movie about a genetically mutated great-white shark. Yeah!!
It breathes air and walks on land and terrorizes a major city. A group of Z-list actors, playing scientists, have to find a way to save day, just in the nick time!!!! Who'd want to watch a great show like the Dresden Files, with something so much better coming along!!!
WTF

I only heard of this because of hulu's "days of summer" additions and I'm sorry that this is the case. Maybe if I and many others had been aware of it's existence originally there would have been a second season. Perfectly enjoyable writing. Reminds a little bit of Charmed, but without the cheesy and irritating characters, and with a slightly darker edge.
Disappointing that there's none more to watch. I'll have to look up about the books though since I do find the leads to be thoroughly enjoyable characters. Maybe there'll be more to read than there is to watch.

I agree with so many of those already on the board. This show and the Lost Room are two gems which Sci-Fi should develop. It is not like they have a lot to lose, I mean they keep making awful movies. I hope someone from Sci-Fi reads this stuff.
