1. They're wrong, having to pay for something is a burden, and we'll only be asking whether or not it's actually worth paying to watch movie trailers and stuff we forgot to TiVo. "Capture the value of our content" what a load of snot, all the content it shows was originally broadcast on network or cable TV. There's no original content produced exclusively for hulu.
2. A lot of current content can easily be found elsewhere. for free. streamed from the very networks that made them or other similar hulu-style sites.
3. A good chunk of Hulu viewers are of the "geek" variety, and we don't pay for anything we don't have to. Torrents might not be up the fastest and take a bit of time to download, but they don't have 5 episode limits or commercials. Piracy rocks.
4. Even if they added a subscription service, they didn't actually say what that entails. It might be that all current content would remain free but additional programing could be added as a bonus service. Extended runs of shows so you can see whole seasons? Premium channel shows like HBO? who knows.
All I'm saying, I'm smelling corporate entitlement to our dollars. Providing a very cheap or free service isn't easy - but really it's not so hard to fathom what would happen if we tried to milk big profits out of this stuff. If they start charging for the services they currently provide without adding new and better content, c-ya.
