I agree with Thomas Carr--why don't you give us the video instead of just clips? Hitchcock made many masterpieces and this film is one of them. The beginning at a pet shop loaded with birds prefaces the main story and the birds in the pet shop are all docile. The change does not begin until the gull swipes at Tippi Hedren's head while she is in the skiff. Tippi Hedren's character appears to be at least one part of the cause of what follows. She brings little docile birds to Bodega Bay. All of us who have seen this great film know what happens after the caged birds arrive in the town. Hitchcock's original, apocalyptic ending would have been the best, but remaking a Hitchcock film? That should never be done. Do you re-paint the Mona Lisa? I don't think so. Film is ART also. The loopy ending with all the main characters heading out to God knows where is silly, but stands as it is--a Hitchcock goof in a great film.
