I have just watched the first 3 episodes and I am amazed.
Most of the guys I grew up with had killed, cleaned, cooked and eaten their first squirel by the age of 6 and started big game hunting with adult supervision by 12. Most of the guys in my boy scout troop could out survive these guys.
I love to practice the skill of making fire with a fire drill. If it takes more than 20 secoonds you are doing something wrong. The fastest guys could do it in 10 seconds.
One of my scouting buddies (Eagle Scout) hiked the entire Appalachian trail after high school and lived off the land for the entire six months.
I guess this has to do with the increasing ubanization of America.
The spirit is still alive in some of us. The "bug out" movement might be something you'd be interested in, if you're not already.
Whether these guys cry or not, at least they're learning and will be better men for it. Perhaps they can pass on their knowledge to future generations as well.
