Junpei Manaka is your average junior high student, but one day, he sees a girl in strawberry panties on the rooftop. When he starts his search for this ultimate beauty, he triggers a lot of unexpected chaos!
When I watch the show on my Roku 2 XD the Viz logo that's supposed to be in the corner isn't, as it has somehow moved itself towards the middle and now blocks the far right of the subs. This is temporarily fixed when the video screen is minimized and the preview for the next episode pops up. When I choose 'go back to video', the logo is where it should be. This doesn't apply to the next episode played, though.
I decided to read the manga because of some reviews I read, and I actually enjoyed it a lot, though I'll never be able to admit to reading it to anyone I know due to the ridiculous amount of fan service. Now, fan service is not something I care about in the least -- it doesn't bother me, but it doesn't particularly interest me either. Still, I have to admit that the artwork was very well-done and appealing: it added a nice flavor to what ultimately turned out to be a touching teenage romance drama. A couple of the female characters are brought in to be simply eye-candy, but for the most part, the story doesn't stray much from the major love triangles. I liked the character designs (and their evolution) in the manga a bit more than in the anime, but the anime designs aren't far off.The thing I like the best about this series is that it reminds me a lot of my own experiences (sans much of the ribaldry). The characters are very relatable to me, especially the lead male character Manaka Junpei. The thoughts and feelings and complications and uncertainties could have been directly pulled out of significant parts of my life. I just feel the main story arc is very honest and beautiful, even if much of the artwork is perverted. But you know what? People are perverted whether they want to admit it or not, and that's part of the honesty and beauty as well.I still can't recommend the OVAs (called season 2 on hulu) because several of them aren't even in the manga, they don't help develop the story, and they seem to be more about fan service than anything else. However, I do recommend season 1, and the manga is even better. For that reason, I'll change my rating from 3 to 4 stars.
actually each episode contains 2 episodes so in the first seasons the 13 episodes are actually the 26 episodes the 2nd season isnt really a season but rather ovas they made the stuff in season 2 happens in between certain chapters of the magna if u wish to finish the story and find out which girl he ends up with read the magna or do like me and start from beginning i like it that way but to each their own theres a 167 chapters for the entire series in the magna all in all a good series the ending was sad but also kinda dissapointing for me cause he didnt pick the girl i was rooting for but ahh well i wont give away any spoilers
I actually liked the first season a lot; it made me feel a bit nostalgic for some reason. But the second season? Awful. Pure garbage. It's almost enough to make me forget how much I enjoyed the show at the beginning. If you feel like giving this show a chance, do yourself a favor and do not watch the second season.
I saw some of this anime on a site but stop for some reason at 12. I searched and people said it was cancelled at episode 12. Yet, on another site, I discovered episode 13. But here I found 5 new episodes from season 2. But it just stops. And it was last posted 5 years ago. Is Strawberry 100% finished? Or are they just really slow............
