I got addicted to K dramas not long ago (Feb '11) and this is my 10th drama so far. I initially skipped over it, but kept coming back to it because the presentation looked so good. And it was a good decision for a few reasons.
1) The filming, storyline, acting and scenery is amazing. The music was lovely and there was something particularly sophisticated about the way they presented the story and characters.
2) This may be a con to others and it's totally a subjective perspective: I DIDN'T feel like I had to stay up EVERY night to watch it. I could barely keep my eyes off of certain dramas: Boys over flowers,Personal Taste , shining inheritance...to name a few...but this story was TOO SLOW to get me that hooked on it. With that said, the story is built up in a way that makes you want to see how things unravel. And the emotions are conveyed really well so you really feel them (and cry)..these actors are stunning (umm except for Phillip.. extremely beautiful guy..but not the best actor)
Bottom line, I think this is a great romance story, but I wouldn't show this to someone who has never seen a K drama and wants to see how all the hype is justified. Furthermore, I thought it was too slow. I had to fastforward a lot because they spent too much time showing characters reflect on scenes we had already seen, or just walk to and from a destination. My rating of 4/5 comes mainly from the amazing quality of acting, but if you're ansy for non-stop riveting action..check out something like shining inheritance.
OK..one more thing! I totally would love a season 2 to see what happens to all the characters, or atleast a follow up episode!
