NBC's "Community" is the best show on TV.

There was previously just a mountain of love letters, fan art and petitions to prove it. Now, it has an award. With the help of its Twitter-happy cast and a tireless fanbase, "Community" took down AMC's force of a zombie show "The Walking Dead" by more than 11,000 votes to win Hulu's 2012 Best in Show competition. Greendale's finest fended off comedy's juggernauts — "30 Rock," "Parks and Recreation," "New Girl" and "Modern Family" — to earn the title. Now, it's officially part of TV's comedy pantheon. And, yes, it's officially streets ahead.

In last year's contest, "Community" seemed to have an incredible amount of momentum. Then the irresistible force that is the "Community" fan base smacked up against the immovable object that was "Chuck" fandom, and the "Chuck" fans won. "Chuck" is gone now, and "Community" has already moved a Subway franchise into the Greendale cafeteria. Will it inherit the Best in Show title as well? They'd certainly be my pick. As mentioned in previous weeks, I enjoy parts of "The Walking Dead" quite a lot (its action/suspense scenes in particular), but I'm going with Troy and Abed, Jeff and Britta, Shirley and Annie, Pierce and Chang and Dean Pelton and all the creative, insane, hilarious, touching things that happen on "Community" every week. "Community" even did its own zombie episode, "Epidemiology," last season. Will that be enough to take down a straightforward zombie series? Time to find out.
