Sports Action Team

A friend of mine told me about it, and was surprised how funny it was when I watched it. It's kind of got an office vibe, but it's about sports reporters and has real athletes who join in on the fun. I thought it was interesting to see the athletes goofing around and not being meathead robots. The characters are hilarious and offbeat. Does anyone know if this show is still on?

It's a rip-off of "Dog Bites Man" (a Comedy Central show). The jokes on this show never pan out - mostly just "actors" standing around waiting for their friends to laugh at them and show them pity --- but their friends aren't there and then the show is sad because you feel sorry for the actors. Maybe the show is supposed to be sad and awful and then it accomplished its mission and is very, very good. There is one weird looking guy who ruins every scene he is in. I clicked on this by accident as I searched for "Action" with Jay Mohr which was excellent. This may be a public access show.

This show had a kind, intelligent, athletic, good-with-his-hands fellow from Minnesota (bonus: he is good-looking). I cannot ask for much more than that. The show was funny, good hearted and adventurous all at once. It should have gotten Emmy nominations but I think it was unique for the time. Now, shows that are similar are finally getting recognized.I won't reveal any plot details for this movie because it will spoil it for those who haven't seen it. Let's just say that Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly ends up back in 1955 where a sequence of events inadvertently orchestrated by Marty threaten his very existence. He is aided by Doc Brown played brilliantly by Christopher Lloyd who tries to get him back to 1985 without causing any damage to the fabric of time.In short, the show that represented the best years NBC has ever had is now just a forgotten relic without any punch in a world full of more interesting programming. While it is a piece of the past, there's nothing to recommend it outside of nostalgia. While this is unfortunate, it was the same fate that befell most of the shows that it based off of. Considering the fate of that sitcom mold, perhaps the Cosby Show can claim some sort of victory. At least it used the mold when it was somewhat respectable, and not tarnished by has-beens with the last names of Belushi and Sheen.Quick fast factIn the episode where Skeeter moves into his basement, and all subsequent episodes, one of the posters on his walls is the Jumbo Pictures logo.

I caught this show once last year and thought it was pretty good - I'd never heard anything about it. Then I caught it a couple weeks later and they had Mike Ditka eating a pork chop in a bathroom - and I laugh my a** off. I was hooked. It's like 'the office' but has sports people on it. It's really funny but it takes a couple of episodes to get into it and some episodes are better then others - but over all it's great. I read that it's improvised, (like Curb - which is my favorite show); once I heard that, I liked it even more. Nice to watch it for free.

I am so excited to see Sports Action Team on hulu! My husband and I are big fans! I love the comedy in this show, reminds me of The Office.
