Solitary 3.0 when thought of in the series is just more of the past two seasons, but during the past seasons I actually felt connected to contestants. For some reason, I wasn't this time around. I wasn't rooting for anyone in particular, and just didn't care who won or lost (as long as the creepy guy lost).
Solitary 3.0 as a stand-alone season is mind-bending. You'll wonder why you're watching and how you could. There is nothing truly graphic like nudity or gore. It's all just about pushing the limits of the human mind and body in a controlled environment where it truly is every man for himself. The participants entire time in their empty "pod" is watched over by Val, who, for all intensive purposes, is a robot with a female voice who studies humans.
They eat only power bars (unless they win food for themselves during a special competition) and when they eat is told to them by Val. Val tells them when to sleep. If you try to sleep when you're not allowed, you're blasted with noise to keep you awake.
It's a psychological thrill that.. just isn't so great after 3 seasons. :(
