This film was a first rate production in its day and still can hold its own VERY nice soundtrack and filmed in part on location in Mexico note the volcano in the background was really errupting in 1947

Stellar Cast/Very Well Done
Excellent movie! Tyrone Power is wonderful, as usual. Cesar Romero was perfectly cast as Cortez. Lee J. Cobb played a very sympathetic character. All together, I would recommend it to anyone.

Not bad
Fun to watch but as any historical movie made in USA , historical accuracy = 0
But a good way to spend 2 hours of your life if you don' have anything better to do

The Captain from Castile
I read Samuel Shellabarger, the author, as a child. When I discovered this movie, I was thrilled. The last time I saw it was ten years ago. What a pleasant surprise to find it on Hulu. Another of Shellabarger's books on film staring T. Power is Prince of Foxes. It's a better movie since the brilliant Orson Wells co-stars in it...
