Once again, evidence that FOX has no idea what it's doing. They always cancel the shows with the best chances of bringing them more viewers. I swear, if it wasn't for House and Bones, FOX would have gone under by now.

What were they thinking?! I just happened upon this show on Hulu and I couldn't stop watching it! It's funny, with a totally refreshing plot, and a fantastic cast. How could Fox just drop this show? They should bring it back. Bring it back!!!

Last week my sister asked me on the phone if I knew who Anthony Bourdain is, and if I'd ever seen a show called Kitchen Confidential. I hadn't heard of either. She said Bourdain's Travel Channel series is her favorite. And that an acquaintance at work told her about a sitcom based on The New York Times bestseller he wrote called Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly. She said the show got cancelled but was available on DVD, which she ordered immediately on Amazon.com and was really looking forward to because, according to her, she just absolutely LOVES Anthony Bourdain. A friend of mine told me about Hulu.com a few weeks ago, so out of curiosity I looked up Kitchen Confidential, and there it was. Well I never got hooked so fast on a show before. I started watching and could not stop. When I finished episode 13 and there were no more, I got upset. It was like in my imagination the restaurant and characters really existed in some world I had the good fortune to visit for a while. I miss them aready. I can't imagine why a show of this caliber was not a huge success. It had everything you could ever want: top-notch writer(s), an incredible cast through and through, and such an original theme. Every last episode, in my opinion, was a masterpiece. I think of all the crap on TV that just goes on and on. I realize more shows fail than succeed. But Kitchen Confidential was a rare gem. The TV viewing public really missed out big this time.

This show is hilarious, and Fox fails for canceling it.
I'm presently reading the book by Anthony Bourdain and it's obvious that the show's writers also did their reading. Great stuff! Was this review helpful?
