She Spies

I'm not sure if most of the reviewers got the point in this show.

It's SUPPOSED to be campy.
It's SUPPOSED to be cliche.
It's SUPPOSED to be corney.

The whole point of this show is to make fun of ever spy show cliche they possibly could.
Examples that come to mind:
Voice over narration
Exposition of what would be obvious to the characters
Women in tight clothes (they talk about how tight their clothes are)
Bad guys who can't aim to save their lives
Good girls who almost never miss
Getting wet
Going off on a tangent (They drive down Tangent drive)
Getting back on story (They turn back onto story drive)
Being told only enough to get started on a mission, but not enough to finish it easily
Getting captured and escaping the same way they did last week, and commenting on how they did the same thing last week

These are cliche in spy shows, so they put them into this show on purpose, and made it obvious on purpose, because it's so funny to those of us who can recognize these things.

I love this show.

A little corney but overall a pretty good show, all the women are very beautiful and funny, although I have to say they look a bit out of shape to be playing this type of role. Henstridge (sp?) looks like she had a baby because she was alot smaller in species 1 & 2, as far as , her waste line and rear end, not sure if those movies were before this series or after. Basically this is kind of a charlies angels remake or at least resembles it. But deffinately worth watching, these women really bring the show to life. and just to add this DD is adorable !

Looks-wise she reminds me of Number 6.

I like campy, cheesy, B series' but man this one ..., but wait let me give my ten worst than this:

Wow, did I write that in a blackout? I couldn't agree more. I'll never forget the first time I happened to catch SheSpies at 1 AM after SNL. It was the second episode of season 1 "The Martini Shot", the one that begins with Henry Gibson as the villain in the prologue, and Cassie swallows the tiny bomb. The joke about Yo-yo Ma immediately put me on notice that this show was special, smart but not the least bit serious. And then, to drive home the point, Cassie actually interrupted the opening credits so she could cough up the bomb. Natasha Henstridge was so cool and awesome that she sold the suspension of suspension of disbelief. By the time she ordered the credits to resume, five minutes in, I had a new favorite show.

Season 2 was a disappointment, and before long I stopped watching. Now that all the episodes are on on Hulu, I intend to give Season 2 another chance, but only after I've gotten reacquainted with all my season 1 favorites. See 2 other replies

I loved the first season of this show. It's the very soul of entertainment for entertainments sake; no agendas, no peddling, no illusions of needing to 'inform' or act as the audiences' conscience somehow- it was just really, really funny. It was also frequently very clever in its deployment of the wink and the nod to how silly everything was. The cast was great and clearly found a good rhythm with each other right out of the gate. Loved it.

And then... oh, boy. One can be forgiven for making the mistake of thinking there was any real connection between She Spies season 1 and SS s 2. After all, what with the similar cast, and same name and so forth you might almost not notice that the humor is largely awol, the breaking of the 4th wall is gone, the clever, cute, and creative snarkiness gave way to a bunch of Alias reject plot lines and generally everything worthwhile about the show plowed under to placate some idiot network guys need to 'really contribute'.

It should have done 5 years as it was in Season 1, season 2 should never have made it past the censors. And for all those who thought the show was stupid or somehow beneath you- Get over yourselves.
