OK, so last week's SNL was literally painful to watch. This week they did a good job. It's still not the best SNL I've ever seen, but I really enjoyed it. A lot of the content was actually clever and funny. I thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a good, solid host. His monologue was Excellent. Too bad Hulu didn't get it. I think it's on youtube if you want to see it. It's definitely worth the watch. So, I'd rate it seven out of ten. Solid show.

How hard is it to use Google translate or something for that opening sketch for Hu Jintao speech. Mandarin is the easiest to learn and fake. I know Will was supposed to talk underneath the translation by Nasim and that was the whole premise of the bit,
but ugh it just felt all so "Step N Fetchit" without the makeup. SNL is starting to feel redundant with the same old sketch patterns : Game show, talk show. The only thing refreshing and new is Andy Samberg and his Digital shorts. He might not hit a homerun every time on each video, but I give him props for showcasing something new. Joseph -Levitt was ok. Too much emphasis on his musical background. Opening musical was enough, but it just got overbearing later. Whoever kept pitching him musical character bits shoulda stayed quiet. Yeah, yeah, you gotta cater to their interests and strengths but realize that live musical numbers are largely hard to watch unless they are shot/edited on video prior. "What up with that" sketch is played out. Waaay played out. Funny the first time, now I turn the channel. Better than January Jones last week. She was more stale than week old bread. |

Did January Jones not rehearse for this, or is she just that untalented? Horrible episode. Maybe the worst SNL I've ever watched. That's embarrassing, and insulting to think they'd throw this crap at us and think we'll laugh just because it's SNL.
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. |

I've watched clips from older episodes that were the epitome of stand up comedy. This is season is even worse that the previous. There is nothing in lats night show that resembles comedy. Besides the fact that no one is acting, they are all narrating what is written on the boards with no regard to emotion,or implications and the scripts just don't relate to the audience.
Last night they had a whole section with farts!!!What is this? Are plain farts considered comedy? What used to be an exception, Digital Short, is now in line with the rest skits. The only bright moment this season was the episode with Gerald Butler, which was actually funny. They should just keep Digital Short and fire the rest of the cast, they are out of ideas and recycle skits from previous season.

And I'm not saying: "Well, it has some good jokes...blah, blah, blah..."
No. This show just ISN'T FUNNY. It's the most dry, pathetically boring humor I've ever seen. It's not funny. I'm not saying it "offends me" or, "Golly gee, this show can be icky sometimes!" as some of you will probably shout at me after writing thisss... Just no. This show isn't funny.

Honestly SNL is sucking more and more if it wasnt for andy sanberg and keanen this show would 100% go down the drain , the digital shorts is what basically keeping this show alive.

Did anyone else notice a difference in the first live Deep House Dish Lady Gaga and Madonna sketch and the re-run tonight of the same episode? Way different and I am wondering why it was changed. On Hulu is the original with Gaga in sunglasses. Re-run no sunglasses and more talking.
