You know, I saw one of the first episodes of this show when it first aired on actual for-real cable, and wasn't all that happy with it... granted, I may have been in a rotten mood that day, or something, but I really wanted to like it, so when I saw it listed on Hulu, I thought, "OK, I'll give it another chance. It wouldn't be the first time it took me more than one episode to warm to a show."
What do I find? NO FIRST SEASON! I can understand you wanting to feed the corporate machine and sell DVDs and all, but let me give you a hint: Hulu has become a way people DISCOVER shows they never realized they'd like, or never got to see because it had an inconvenient time slot. Hook 'em, then they'll come back for more... but if you don't give them the opportunity to get the basic concept of the show and character development, forget it. Leave the 1st season up, or at least the first 5 episodes or so. Nobody I know will buy a $35.00+ DVD box set without knowing they'll like the show.
There was a time not too long ago when you DID what I'm suggesting with many of your shows, so why the sudden change? Did you get a new sales and marketing exec when you changed your name? Whatever happened to smart marketing, and giving at least an ounce of respect to your (potential) viewers? Keep it up, and you'll get the opposite effect you're looking for.
Sincerely,
a disgruntled viewer
